Interzum Bogota 2026 opened its doors: Latin America and the Caribbean connect with the global furniture industry
- The 17th edition of the fair began today at Corferias with the participation of nearly 200 exhibitors from 19 countries.
- More than 14,000 professional visitors are expected during the four days of the event.
Bogotá, May 12, 2026. With a focus on connecting Latin America and the Caribbean with the trends, technologies and opportunities that are transforming the global furniture and wood industry today, interzum bogota 2026 officially opened its doors this Tuesday at Corferias.
The 17th edition of the fair brings together nearly 200 exhibitors from 19 countries and expects the attendance of more than 14,000 professional visitors including businesspeople, manufacturers, architects, designers, investors and industry experts, consolidating itself as the only version of interzum in Latin America and the Caribbean.
On May 12, representatives from Corferias, Koelnmesse, and entities linked to the development of the forestry and furniture industries participated in the opening ceremony. The event also featured Julia Bachmann, Global Brand Manager of Koelnmesse, along with organizers, partners, and key players from the national and international industry, highlighting Bogotá's role as a strategic hub for fostering international connections, knowledge exchange, and new business opportunities.

We work with trade fairs in different markets around the world, and each one shows us a different way of understanding the industry, doing business, and building the future. Here in Colombia, that energy is clearly felt in the conversations, in the companies in the sector, and in the region's ability to connect talent, resources, and opportunities,” said Julia Bachmann, Global Brand Manager of Koelnmesse.
What will you find at Interzum Bogotá?
The academic and technical agenda includes more than 60 content spaces between the Wood and Furniture Forum, Wood Talks, Smart Talks and the Creation and Innovation Center (CCI), integrating conversations on sustainability, forestry investment, wood construction, design, bioeconomy, circular economy and innovation applied to the industry.
One of the main focuses of this edition will be the Wood and Furniture Forum, developed in conjunction with FEDEMADERAS, where representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), German Cooperation for Development Colombia (GIZ), CAMACOL, universities and national and international companies will participate.
This will also be the third consecutive edition in which the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development and WWF will develop dialogues around the Intersectoral Pact for Legal Timber and sustainable community forest management, promoting conversations on sustainability and forest governance in the region.
The Wood and Furniture Forum and Wood Talks component will feature international guests such as Gabriela Penner, Investment Officer Forestry of the Dutch development bank (FMO), who will address forestry investment opportunities in emerging markets, and José Pezo, Managing Director of MAHILD (Chile), with talks focused on global trends in wood transformation and processing.
For its part, Smart Talks will bring together leading figures in design, architecture and internationalization such as David Cámara Navarro (Spain), a specialist in circular economy and project development between Europe and Latin America, along with experts from different markets who will share perspectives on innovation, materiality and new dynamics for the industry.
In parallel, the Creation and Innovation Center, led in conjunction with SENA, will offer workshops, demonstrations, and practical spaces focused on new technologies, applied artificial intelligence, construction systems, and transformation processes for industry.
