Interzum Bogota 2026 will be carbon neutral: the fair will offset its footprint with real impact on forests and communit
- More than 200 exhibitors and 14,000 visitors will participate in an edition that connects business, innovation and sustainability in Latin America and the Caribbean
Bogotá, April 29, 2026. Interzum Bogotá 2026 announced that this edition of the fair will be carbon neutral, making it the first fair in the sector in the region to obtain this certification.
Through its sustainability partner, The Community Forests, an alliance between Yauto, Carbo, and Terra, the fair will measure its carbon footprint and offset its environmental impact by acquiring carbon credits. The process includes traceability, verification, and technical rigor.
The carbon neutral certification will be handled by Applus+
Certification is not the end goal, but the starting point. Carbon credits are allocated to the "Aire de Vida" (Air of Life) project, which benefits the Uitoto Monochoa indigenous community in Caquetá: a territory that has protected its native forests since long before the industry began to talk about sustainability. The contributions support their social, economic, and cultural well-being, with forest conservation at its core.
This announcement coincides with Arbor Day and comes at a time when the furniture and wood industry must demonstrate its ability to grow responsibly. The trade fair embraces this conversation: wood as a renewable material, and production as a catalyst for change.
The fair that brings together the furniture and wood industry in a single venue
From May 12 to 15, Corferias will host more than 200 exhibitors from 18 countries and nearly 14,000 trade visitors. For four days, Bogotá will become the regional epicenter of the wood processing, furniture manufacturing, and interior design industries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The fair will bring together companies, manufacturers, designers, architects and buyers looking to generate business, learn about applicable solutions and connect with global trends in a single setting.
“That Interzum Bogota 2026 is carbon neutral is relevant not only as an achievement of the fair, but as a signal for the entire industry in Colombia. This sector has the capacity to grow and at the same time assume a responsible stance towards the territory. That is exactly what we want to promote from Corferias,” stated Ana Garibello, project manager of Interzum Bogota at Corferias.
In addition to the trade show, Interzum Bogota 2026 offers a program of content and experiences that includes: Smart Talks, focused on trends, innovation, and design; Wood Talks, centered on the forestry chain and the origin of wood; the Creation and Innovation Center (CCI), developed in conjunction with SENA; and the Business Roundtable, which will facilitate meetings between companies and buyers.
It will also feature specialized areas such as Sustainable Construction and Inspiration, where materials, processes and creativity are connected with real applications for the industry.
