Interzum Bogota 2026 brought the forest to Corferias with “Tree Tasting”, a sensory experience centered around wood
- The experience took place today, May 13th at 5:00 pm, within the framework of interzum bogota 2026, the international fair of the furniture and wood industry.

Bogotá, May 2026. Amid conversations about sustainability, bioeconomy, design and transformation of the wood industry, interzum bogota 2026 opened today, May 13, a space to connect with the forest from a sensory and experiential perspective with “Tree Tasting”, an activity led by the artist and designer Germán Eduardo Gómez Uribe.
The experience was part of the Wood Talks agenda, the space that complements the Wood and Furniture Forum with conversations and applied experiences around materials, innovation and new ways of relating to wood and nature.
“'Tree Tasting' is an invitation to encounter plants using all our senses. Here, the forest isn't just observed, it's inhabited. It's about learning to 'converse' with the trees through their shapes, the aroma of their resins, the taste of their fruits, and the pulse of their sounds; a sensory experience from, with, and for the body. Because every tree has a story to tell us, if we stop to feel it,” said Germán Eduardo Gómez Uribe, artist and designer from Jorge Tadeo Lozano University.
The activity aimed to transform the traditional perception of wood as an industrial raw material, inviting attendees to explore its biological, cultural and sensory dimension through sounds, aromas, textures and immersive experiences.
“Interzum Bogota seeks to open different conversations about the industry and show how sustainability, design and innovation can also be approached from experiences that connect emotionally with the materials and the territory,” said Angélica Garzón, Project Manager of Koelnmesse.
These types of spaces are part of interzum bogota 2026's commitment to integrating sustainability, design, industry and knowledge on a single platform, connecting global conversations with experiences applied to the Latin American context.
The 17th edition of the fair brings together nearly 200 exhibitors from 19 countries and expects the attendance of more than 14,000 professional visitors between May 12 and 15 at Corferias.
“At Corferias, we work to make Interzum Bogota a platform where business, knowledge, and experiences converge, allowing us to understand the potential of the industry from different perspectives,” said Ana Garibello, project manager at Corferias.
